Former FBI special agent Peter Strzok, once the No. 2 counterintelligence official at the bureau, was fired on Friday for violating the federal law enforcement agency’s policies, his lawyer confirmed on Monday.
Not surprisingly, The New York Times sought to spin the firing as improper and the act of a spiteful POTUS Donald Trump:
Peter Strzok, the F.B.I. senior counterintelligence agent who disparaged President Trump in inflammatory text messages and helped oversee the Hillary Clinton email and Russia investigations, has been fired for violating bureau policies, Mr. Strzok’s lawyer said Monday.
Mr. Trump and his allies seized on the text messages — exchanged during the 2016 campaign with a former F.B.I. lawyer, Lisa Page — in assailing the Russia investigation as an illegitimate “witch hunt.” Mr. Strzok, who rose over 20 years at the F.B.I. to become one of its most experienced counterintelligence agents, was a key figure in the early months of the inquiry.
But nevertheless, the Left has a new martyr now and they’re going to do what they always do: Reward irresponsibility, bad behavior, and illegal conduct.
As noted by The Gateway Pundit, it didn’t take long for the fired FBI agent to open a GoFundMe account and start begging for $150,000 for anticipated legal fees (remember when fired employees just went away and found other jobs?).
Deeply saddened by this decision. It has been an honor to serve my country and work with the fine men and women of the FBI. https://t.co/iET9SbeTrv pic.twitter.com/7VTswzjoxE

It also didn’t take long for lawless Leftists to begin contributing to his defense. As of this writing, over $250,000 had already been pledged. Despicable.
As a reminder, Strzok wasn’t quite the saint the “failing” Times wants us to remember him as. In fact, he was one of the most anti-Trump, pro-Hillary Clinton sycophants involved in both the former’s “Spygate” scandal and the latter’s BS exoneration for her obvious mishandling of classified information. (Related: CORRUPTION confirmed as email reveals FBI head James Comey protected Clinton, Lynch from prosecution.)
Here are a few of the reasons why Strzok should have been hit with a charge of sedition at a minimum rather than allowed to walk with just a dismissal:
— ‘We’ll stop him’: According to a recently released report from Michael Horowitz, the Justice Department inspector general, Strzok vowed to keep Donald Trump out of the White House (obviously he failed but what makes this notable is that he tried).
In back-and-forth text messages between Strzok and his paramour, then-FBI lawyer Lisa Page, the two wrote:
PAGE: “[Trump’s] not ever going to become president, right? Right?!”
STRZOK: “No. No he won’t. We’ll stop it.”
“We?”
— Horowitz said that five FBI officials expressed hostility toward Trump before his election as president and disclosed in his report to Congress that their actions have been referred to the bureau for possible disciplinary action.
— There is a concern that Strzok, Page, or both may also have been involved in leaking to the news media in an attempt to undermine Trump.
— Strzok at one time discussed taking out an “insurance policy” of sorts to guard against a Trump victory, should that happen (and of course, it did). Fox News senior political anchor Brett Baier tweeted it in December 2017: “Text-from Peter Strzok to Lisa Page: ‘I want to believe the path u threw out 4 consideration in Andy’s office-that there’s no way he gets elected-but I’m afraid we can’t take that risk. It’s like an insurance policy in unlikely event u die be4 you’re 40.’” “Andy” was fired FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe, who also had much, if not all, of his legal fees paid for as well.

There can be no doubt that Strzok – along with James Comey, McCabe, and other FBI and Justice Department officials – all worked to exonerate someone they believed was going to be president while working against someone the American people chose to be our president. That can’t be brushed under the rug or easily forgiven, even if there are far too many Americans willing to do so with a financial contribution.
