The State of Nevada has passed a new legislative bill to allow for mail-in voting this November, and President Donald Trump is having none of it.
At the start of the week, Trump announced via Twitter that he is planning to sue the gambling mecca for altering the normal voting process in such a way that puts him and other Republicans at a disadvantage.
“In an illegal late-night coup, Nevada’s clubhouse Governor made it impossible for Republicans to win the state,” Trump wrote. “Post Office could never handle the Traffic of Mail-In Votes without preparation. Using COVID to steal the state. See you in Court!”
Trump also retweeted a photo of protesters outside a government building in Nevada calling for no mail-in voting, which opens up the potential for widespread voter fraud.
None other than Democrat Jerry Nadler admitted to this back in 2004, though the left apparently has a very short-term memory, especially now that Trump is in office.
The change in Nevada came as part of an emergency legislative session in which legislators decided that every registered voter in the state should receive a mail-in ballot due to the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19).
Much of the controversy lies in the fact that the change not only alters the voting process in a substantial way but also reassigns control over the election from Secretary of State Barbara Cegavske to Gov. Steve Sisolak, an outspoken Democrat
This in and of itself amounts to election fraud, and Trump is bringing this to the People’s attention via social media.
“We will be suing Nevada,” Trump told a room of reporters, again describing the move as an “illegal late-night coup.”
“And that’s already been taken care of; we’ll probably file something tomorrow,” Trump added.
As of this writing, seven other states have mail-in voting provisions on the books, including the states of Utah, Colorado, Hawaii, Oregon, and Washington, all of which already conduct their elections entirely by mail. California and Vermont, however, have joined Nevada in adopting mail-in voting as a result of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19).
While speaking to reporters, Trump further indicated that he has a right to issue an executive order concerning mail-in ballots, though he did not elaborate on what this might entail.
“We haven’t gotten there yet,” he stated.
Various other states are looking into adopting mail-in voting provisions of their own in order to allegedly prevent the further spread of the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19). But Trump and many others are concerned that the U.S. Postal Service does not possess the tools it needs to handle this onslaught of mail.
“I don’t think the Post Office is prepared for a thing like this,” Trump indicated.
In Nevada, politicians are actually encouraging residents not to vote at actual polls, even if they want to, and to instead mail in their ballots in order to keep everyone “safe.”
“During this global pandemic, I made a commitment that we’d do all we can to allow Nevadans to safely cast a ballot in the upcoming November election,” Gov. Sisolak wrote on Twitter immediately after signing the bill.
Trump recently proposed delaying the election until a time when it can be safely done the traditional way, though the mainstream media and the left say that this is a preposterous notion.
“Absentee voting yes. Pushing ballots NO!” wrote one Breitbart News commenter.
“If people can stand in line for the funeral of John Lewis, they can show up to vote in person,” wrote another.
